Rodney is an Emmy nominated cinematographer from Sea Level, North Carolina, whose work spans narrative features, television, and IMAX documentary films. He is recognized for his ability to move seamlessly between large-scale, visually ambitious projects and intimate, character-driven storytelling. He is known to be a great collaborator with directors and producers working tirelessly to get their vision on the screen.
Taylor’s still photography concentrates on storytelling using motion, light and reflections. He is influenced by the oral history and tradition of spinning yarns in his coastal North Carolina family. “I remember listening to these tales and seeing the pictures in my mind. My goal is to share my vast experiences around the world particularly paying tribute to the many disappearing cultures I’ve seen.”
During his 4 decades long cinema career he has also shot stills extensively all over the globe including Tanzania, Ethiopia, Kenya, Japan, Alaska, Australia, Argentina, Chile, Russia, Taiwan, France, and a plethora of state-side locations from New York to Los Angeles and everywhere in between.
